SERVICES

  • There are 25 full size dissection tables with cadaver tanks to preserve embalmed cadavers and dissected parts.
  • Well ventilated dissection hall with embalming room is provided with an embalming machine.
  • Mortuary chambers are also available for stocking cadavers.
  • The histology lab is equipped with Kohler illuminated microscope for each student.
  • The museum has more than 175 specimens mounted in glass jars depicting various parts of the human body in addition to more than 100 embryology and cytogenetics models.  Added facilities also include the availability of 115 charts describing neuroanatomy pathways and special senses.

RESEARCH & TRAINING

The student histology laboratory has sufficient number of binocular microscopes, automatic tissue processor, knife sharpener and tissue stainer.

In addition, the department has LCD projectors, overhead projectors, embryology and neuroanatomy projection slides as teaching aids.  The department is carrying out an UGC funded  research project wherein some students are also trained in research methodology.

The Anatomy museum displays 160 dissected specimens, 75 models, 250 charts and drawings and catalogues of the specimens. The museum has 4 foetal skeletons, 25 disarticulated skeletons, 50 complete skulls and 44 sets of disarticulated skull bones. Several Animated / Stills and CD's are also available for teaching / self learning.
