COMPUTER CENTR

We are very proud to say that our Computer Lab is spacious, well ventilated with A/C.  We have more than 50 Computers for Students to operate, learn computers.  Our computer lab ensures safety to the students.

LIBRARY FACILITY

We are proud to say that our library is extensive, well ventilated, and spacious with comfortable seating arrangements.  There is a full time qualified and well experienced Librarian who manages the Library.  There is a separate journal section.  Our Library is computerized too, providing E-Library with internet facility.  In fact, we are planning to establish departmental library in due course.

AUDIO VISUAL AIDS AND OTHER TEACHING MATERIALS

             Sri Manakula Vinayagar Nursing College has a well equipped Audio-Visual aids department headed by a Senior Faculty Member.

 These AV aids are regularly used by the faculty and also by students during their practice teaching.

SNA ACTIVITIE

     Every student by virtue of joining the Nursing course, automatically becomes a member of the Student Nurses Association.  It is a nation wide organization, established in 1929.  A wide variety of activities is encouraged at all levels for the SNA members.  These activities are professional, social, cultural and recreational in nature and include organizing professional meetings and conferences, conducting exhibitions, essay writing and elocution contests, project works, dance, drama, music and painting, etc.  In addition to the above institutional celebrations like Lamp lighting, Graduation, Independence Day, Republic Day, College Day, etc., are organized.

READING AND RECREATION

     Magazines of general reading such as India-Today, Film Fare, Woman’s Era, Wisdom, Nutrition and Health Care, Health for Millions, etc., and Newspapers such as ‘The Hindu’, ‘The New Indian Express’, ‘Deccan Chloride’, ‘Times of India, ‘Economic Times’, are purchased by our College Fund.

   The Institute provides spacious sports room which includes table tennis, Carom boards, Chess board and many other Indoor games.  There is also an outdoor game facility for throw ball and tenny coit.  The sports and recreation committee is responsible for organizing and conducting games and sports periodically and participating in State Level and National Level Competitions.

HOSTEL FACILITY

      Separate Hostel facility is available for both boys and girls.  Students are accommodated in spacious, well-ventilated rooms provided with all the necessary comforts.  They have a separate rooms provided with all the necessary comforts.  They have a separate Mess facility.

      A full time Warden is appointed to look after the general cleanliness of the hostel and to see that the students adhere to the rules and regulations.  She takes the night attendance at 8.00 p.m. and reports any violations of hostel rules to the Principal for corrective action.

 

TRANSPORT

The college provides bus facilities for students.  At present, it operates from Puducherry and Villupuram covering almost all areas.  It has a separate transport facility for those who wish to spend their time after 5.00 p.m. in the college for utilizing Internet, Library, Sports facilities, and so on.

ACHIEVEMENTS / ANNUAL REPORTS

Sri Manakula Vinayagar Nursing College has organized Inauguration for 1st batch  B.Sc. Nursing students on September 24th, 2007 Our Chairman          Shri N. Kesavan,    Vice-Chairman   Shri   S.V. Sugumaran,  Managing Director  Shri   M.  Dhanasekaran,    Principal Dr. R. Rajagovindan, Medical College Dean (Academic)    Shri A. Shaw  Nawaz   Khan,Medical  Superintendent  Dr.Amaranathan, Nursing Superintendent and all other Staff Members solicited their presence and made the programme grand success.  In that the dignitaries gave their valuable speech to the Students.  History of the College, motto & facilities, Rules & Regulations were given by the Principal of SMVNC.

The National Integration day has celebrated on November 21st, 2007.  We have arranged the intra college competition for our students.  Our students spoken about the “National Integration”, and also they have performed based on the theme of National Integration which was appreciated by every one.

Sri Manakula Vinayagar Nursing College has celebrated Republic day on January 26th, 2008.  Our students were given speech on importance of celebrating Republic day.  In that, they have enlighten the importance of celebrating Republic day and explored the each individual contribution to the society.

Our Institution has celebrated “No Smoking Day” on March 13th, 2008.  Our students have displayed many numbers of charts and Models under the valuable guidance of Principal & faculties related to the concept of ‘No Smoking’ such as Causes, effects, complications, environmental pollution, life expectancy of smokers, benefits of ‘No Smoking’.  The students were explained the Charts, Models to the patients and they have received good feed back from the patients & public.

The World Health Organization Day has celebrated on April 7th, 2008, our students participated the Inter-College Competition regarding WHO theme i.e., “protecting Health from Climatic Change” in Mother Therasa Institute at Puducherry and earned participation certificates.

            Our students were attended the workshop on safe motherhood at Mother Therasa Institute of Puducherry on 12.04.2008.   They have received more information from the resource persons which gave opportunity to maintain communication with the other college and provoke the creative ideas and promote the leadership quality among the students.

            The first batch students (2007-2011) of ‘Sri Manakula Vinayagar Nursing College’ secured more than 90 % of results and they have bagged more than 25 distinctions in the University Examination held during January 2008.

ACADEMIC YEAR 2009- 2010

   Sri Manakula Vinayagar Nursing College has organized Inauguration for 3st batch     B.Sc. Nursing students on September 23th, 2009. In this function  Shri N. Kesavan Chairman,    Shri   S.V. Sugumaran Vice-Chairman, Shri M. Dhanasekaran Managing Director, Dr. R. Rajagovindan Principal, Medical College, Dr.Amaranathan Medical Superintendent, Nursing Superintendent and all other Staff Members solicited their presence and made the programme grand success.  In that, the dignitaries gave their valuable speech to the Students.  History of the College, motto & facilities, Rules & Regulations were given by the Principal of SMVNC.

               Our students have attended the World Breast feeding Week celebration at Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital on August, 2009. They have received more information from the resource persons, which provoked their creative ideas and promote the leadership quality among the students. They won 1st prize in elocution. And our students have conducted community awareness programme in various villages at Madagadipet Taluk.

The nursing students of SMVNC were attended the world Breast feeding Week celebration at Kasthurba Gandhi Nursing College on august 2009. They won 1st prize in Poster competition and they have participated in quiz programme also.

Our students were participated Scientific forum at Kasthurba Gandhi Nursing College and they won 1st prize in Quiz competition on September 2009.

Our Institution has conducted Seminar on ENT October 2009.  Our students have presented various topics by different method of teaching to other nursing students.

Sri Manakula Vinayagar Nursing College has organized Pongal celebration on January 17 th, 2010.  Our students were given culturals, Debate related to Tamil traditions. 

The students of SMVNC were participated in Pulse Polio Immunization Programme in coordination with Public Health center, Thirubuvani. And they are involved in community survey regarding the Pulse Polio Vaccination and they submitted the report the PHC.

   The students also had active participation in School Health programme  at Andiarpalayam Government  primary School . And they are conducted health checkup, Health education programme by Fashion show, Video clipping, Dance and Quiz to the School children and they rewarded.

 The nursing students of SMVNC were participated in Anganvadi Programme at Andiarpalayam , conducted health checkups, Health education programme by Video clipping. The childrens were motivated by nursing students to participate actively in drawing and painting. students prepared the nutritious food like Cutlet, dhal payasam, ragi ada and carrot halwa and were given for the children.

Our students of 3rd year B.Sc.(N) were participated on world Tuberculosis Day on 23rd March 2010 at PHC, Thirubuvanai. They have given mass awareness progamme by conducting Villupattu regarding Tuberculosis and its prevention.

Sri Manakula Vinayagar Nursing College has celebrated “World Tuberculosis Day” on 24th march, 2010 the students were arranged a Museum on Tuberculosis which was witnessed by HOD’s, Professors and Assistant professors, Medical students, Nursing Superintendent, Hospital staffs , Nursing students of Sri Manakula Vinayagar group of Institutions and the public residing in and around Madagadipet. And also they conducted quiz competition, poster presentation and Villupattu regarding Tuberculosis and the winners were awarded.  

 Our students were participated in Quiz competition regarding” World Health Day” on April 2010 at PIMS.

The students of SMVNC were participated in Nurse Day celebration at hotel Mass, Puducherry. It is organized by Pondicherry nurses association, were students given cultural regarding “THE NURSE”.

Sri Manakula Vinayagar Nursing College has organized “CULTURAL MEET - 2010” on September 14th, 2010.  Our students were given various traditional cultural dance, Fashion show, Mime and Song competition are conducted. In th at 4th years are won the championship trophy of cultural meet 2010. 

The SMVNC of 4th and 6th semester nursing students has achieved 100% result in Pondicherry University among them 50% of the students got distinction

  Sri Manakula Vinayagar Nursing College has organized Inauguration for 4th batch B.Sc. Nursing students and 2nd batch of P.B.B.Sc,(N) on September 22nd  2010. In this function Shri N. Kesavan Chairman,    Shri   S.V. Sugumaran Vice-Chairman, Shri M. Dhanasekaran Managing Director, Dr. R. Rajagovindan Principal, Medical College, Dr.Amaranathan Medical Superintendent, Nursing Superintendent and all other Staff Members solicited their presence and made the programme grand success.  In that, the dignitaries gave their valuable speech to the Students. 

Sri Manakula Vinayagar Nursing College has celebrated WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY- 2010. On part of the celebration we organized a workshop at our new auditorium. In that various competition were conducted for Mentally ill patients from FLHS and rewarded. There were presentations by faculty and doctors and skit was performed by students on the basis of Mental Health day theme 2010.

The Nursing students of SMVNC were participated at Pondicherry University Silver Jubilee Celebrations cultural and they very much appreciated for their performance. 

The SMVNC faculty and students were attended the SOMI National Level Conference on 11th -14th Nov 2010 at JIPMER, Pondicherry. The Faculties are presented the posters regarding obstetrics and gynecological nursing.
